Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using PXLTools ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Service description

PXLTools provides free, browser-based tools for file processing, code formatting, QR code generation, and related utilities. All file processing (images, PDFs, text) happens entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly use a feature that requires server-side storage (such as saving QR codes to your account).

3. Usage limits

3.1 Guest users (no account)

Guest users may use the tools with the following daily limits: up to 5 image processing operations per day (compress, resize, convert), up to 5 PDF operations per day, and up to 10 QR code or barcode generations per day. Developer tools and text tools have no daily limits.

Guest batch sizes are limited to 5 images per batch, 3 PDFs per merge operation, and 50 QR codes per bulk generation.

Daily limits reset at midnight (UTC). Guest usage is tracked using your browser's localStorage, which stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

3.2 Registered users (free account)

Registered users enjoy unlimited daily usage across all tools, with larger batch sizes: up to 20 images per batch, up to 10 PDFs per merge, and up to 500 QR codes per bulk generation.

Additionally, registered users can save up to 10 QR codes to their account (retained for 6 months, then automatically deleted) and view their last 10 processing actions (retained for 24 hours, then automatically deleted).

When the saved QR code limit of 10 is reached, the oldest saved code is automatically deleted to make room for the new one.

4. Accounts

Account creation is optional. To create an account, you must provide a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

You may request account deletion at any time from your account settings. Upon request, your account and all associated data (including saved QR codes and processing history) will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You can cancel a deletion request by logging in again during the 30-day window.

5. Data storage and retention

Files you process: Never stored on our servers. All processing happens in your browser.

Saved QR codes: Stored on our servers for up to 6 months. Limited to your 10 most recent saves. Automatically and permanently deleted after 6 months.

Processing history: Metadata only (tool name, filename, file sizes). No actual files are stored. Automatically deleted after 24 hours. Limited to your 10 most recent entries.

Account data: Retained until you delete your account.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service to process illegal content, attempt to circumvent usage limits through automated means, use the Service to generate content that infringes on intellectual property rights, probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or use the Service in any way that could harm its availability or integrity for other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.

7. Intellectual property

The PXLTools name, logo, design, and code are our property. The output you generate using our tools belongs to you. We claim no ownership over files you process or content you create.

8. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how our tools are used and to improve the Service. Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We use Clickio as our Consent Management Platform (CMP) to manage cookie consent in compliance with GDPR. You can manage your preferences via the Clickio consent banner or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the tools will produce error-free results, that the Service will be available without interruption, or that output files will be identical in quality to your originals.

You are responsible for verifying that tool output meets your requirements before using it in production.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PXLTools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Romania, without prejudice to your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
