Why add page numbers?
Page numbers help readers navigate, reference specific pages during discussion, and verify they have a complete document. For contracts, legal filings, and academic submissions, numbered pages are often required.
Common conventions: start counting from the first content page (skip title pages, copyrights, and empty covers), use 'Page X of Y' for documents printed double-sided or exchanged electronically, and place numbers at the bottom center or outer corner.
This tool renders numbers as new text on each page — it does not modify the existing content. The result is a new PDF; your source file is unchanged.
